John F. Allan Drive is a short street in South Billerica, about 420 feet long, running north from Lexington Road to the point where Ponderosa Drive and Cartwright Lane begin. It was laid out on "Lexington Hills," a definitive subdivision plan for H. J. Allan, Inc. of 32 Lexington Road, Billerica, drawn by Visniewski Engineering Associates, Inc. of Chelmsford, dated May 27, 1986 and revised September 18, 1986, endorsed by the Planning Board on October 2, 1986 and recorded on October 7, 1986 (Plan Book 156, Plan 36). The plan shows it 50 feet wide, curving up from Lexington Road between Lot 1 and a parcel marked "Parcel B," while Cartwright Lane and Ponderosa Drive, 40 feet wide, carry the subdivision's fourteen lots of about an acre. Land of Harry J. and Marilyn R. Allan, trustees, adjoined the tract on Lexington Road; Harry J. Allan was the president of H. J. Allan, Inc., which also developed Colonial Drive. The only lot with a number on the drive itself, 7 John F. Allan Drive, was made in 2002 by a subdivision and recombination of parts of two earlier parcels and is still vacant.

The town reports mention the street mostly as a landmark on Lexington Road, which was resurfaced in 1996 "from the Middlesex Turnpike to John Allan Drive," and for which design work was done in 2004 for reconstruction "from Boston Road to John F. Allan Drive." No vote accepting it as a public way has been found.

The plan names the street for a John F. Allan but does not say who he was. A John F. Allan Jr. served as a Billerica town meeting member in 1962 to 1964; the records found do not show whether the street honors him or another member of the family.
